(Digital Itla) ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has initiated a major network upgradation activity to further improve the performance and security of its network infrastructure and digital services. According to PTA officials, the mobile device registration system is likely to be temporarily affected due to this network upgrade.
According to the official announcement, the upgradation process will begin on June 24 at 5:00 PM and will continue until June 25 at 6:00 AM. During this period, services of the online Device Identification Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) may face intermittent disruptions or temporary unavailability. The authority stated that the purpose of this upgrade is to align the network infrastructure with modern requirements, strengthen the security of digital services, and provide better and more stable services to users. PTA mentioned that technical teams are continuously monitoring the entire upgrade process to ensure users face minimal inconvenience and services are restored completely as quickly as possible. PTA has requested cooperation from all relevant entities, business partners, and consumers, stating that this necessary maintenance and upgrade activity is being carried out to provide more efficient, secure, and reliable telecommunication services in the future.
