Faisalabad: November 2, 2026 (DIGITAL ITLA) — Reaffirming its strict stance of zero-tolerance against food adulteration, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Faisalabad Division intercepted and seized a consignment of counterfeit branded spices being transported for local market distribution.

According to official sources, a PFA Food Safety Team acting under the direct supervision of Additional Director (Operations) PFA Faisalabad Division Imtiaz Hussain and Deputy Director (Operations) Faisalabad, conducted a 5-hour surveillance operation alongside the PFA Vigilance Team. The raid successfully intercepted a commercial loader rickshaw carrying counterfeit spice packs carrying forged labels of leading national brands.

The Food Safety Team immediately called emergency police services along with authorized representatives of the respective food companies to the site. Upon physical inspection, company delegates formally disowned the seized products, issuing non-affiliation certificates confirming that the goods were illicit counterfeits.

The PFA team confiscated 33 kilograms of fake spices and registered a criminal FIR against the suspects involved. The culprits were subsequently arrested and handed over to local police custody for further investigation. PFA officials reiterated that rigorous field checks will persist to protect public health and eradicate counterfeit food networks across the division.
