FAISALABAD: November 9, 2026 (Digital Itla) — Armed associates opened fire on a police team in an attempt to rescue two under-custody suspects during a recovery operation, leaving both suspects injured by their own accomplices' gunfire in the Dijkot and Roshanwala jurisdictions.

According to police sources, the suspects, Arslan (son of Tariq Gujjar) and Arif (son of Muhammad Hanif, residents of 263 RB), were already in police custody for assaulting minor girls and producing blackmail videos. As police officers were escorting the duo for physical evidence recovery, their armed accomplices launched an attack to force their release. During the crossfire, both under-custody suspects were struck by bullets fired by their own associates.

Dijkot Police, led by SHO Rana Muhammad Saleem, secured the scene, transferred the wounded suspects to the hospital for medical assistance, and dispatched police teams to track down the fleeing accomplices.
