PFA Raids Sauce Manufacturing Unit in Faisalabad: Operations Suspended, Rs 25,000 Fine Imposed
FAISALABAD: Nov 5 (Digital Itla) — Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Faisalabad Division raided an adulterated sauce manufacturing unit, suspending its operations and imposing a PKR 25,000 fine for non-compliance with safety standards, officials said on Thursday.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional Director (Operations) PFA Faisalabad Division Imtiaz Hussain and the Deputy Director (Operations). During the inspection, the Food Safety Team tested the sauce's Brix level using a refractometer, discovering it fell well short of prescribed quality parameters.
According to a PFA spokesperson, the unit was sealed until reform due to repeated failure to implement previous directions and the unauthorized use of artificial sweeteners. Furthermore, PFA officials discarded 25 liters of substandard sauce and 7 kilograms of artificial sweetener on the spot.
