Cruel Landlord Allegedly Sets Watchman's Donkey Cart Ablaze Over Crop Residue Dispute

Burewala / Faisalabad: October 31, 2026 (DIGITAL ITLA) — In a horrific display of cruelty, a landlord in a rural town near Burewala reportedly set a watchman's crop-loaded donkey cart on fire following a minor dispute over collecting harvest residue, resulting in the brutal death of a female donkey.

According to details, the tragic incident occurred in Village 191 EB within the jurisdiction of Gaggoo Mandi Police Station. Enraged over the collection of remaining paddy crop residue from his field, the suspect allegedly set fire to the watchman's cart, which was fully loaded with dry agricultural waste. The fire intensified rapidly, reducing the cart and the materials to ashes, while the tethered female donkey sustained fatal burn injuries on the spot.

Upon receiving the information, Gaggoo Mandi Police responded promptly, taking the accused landlord into custody. Police authorities confirmed that formal legal action and criminal proceedings under relevant animal cruelty and property destruction laws have been initiated against the suspect.
