Faisalabad: October 28 (DIGITAL ITLA) — A 30-foot-wide breach developed in the Gogera Branch Canal near Muhammad Nagar village in Faisalabad, triggering a heavy outflow of water into surrounding agricultural areas.
According to initial reports, the rapid inundation flooded acres of fertile land, severely damaging standing mature crops and inflicting substantial financial losses on local farmers.
Local residents expressed concern over administrative inertia, reporting that despite timely notifications sent to relevant authorities and the Irrigation Department, remedial efforts to plug the canal breach have yet to be initiated on the ground.
