Intelligence-Based Operations Against Terrorism from Afghanistan Will Continue: Pakistan Army
07 July 2026
(Digital Itla) The Pakistan Army has delivered a clear message that the armed forces of Pakistan, under Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq, will continue intelligence-based operations against terrorism emanating from Afghan Taliban-controlled areas. The 276th Corps Commanders' Conference was held under the chairmanship of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military), Hilal-e-Jurat, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces. The forum offered Fateha for the rewards of the martyrs, stating that their timeless sacrifices will always remain the foundation of Pakistan's security, unity, and resilience.
The Corps Commanders' Conference expressed serious concerns over the continuous use of Afghan Taliban-ruled areas by Indian-backed terrorist groups to plan attacks on Pakistan. The forum made it clear that lasting peace and stability in the region are conditional on stopping Indian proxies on land under the control of the Afghan Taliban. It is the responsibility of the self-proclaimed leadership of the Afghan Taliban regime to ensure their territory is not used for terrorism against Pakistan, emphasizing that Pakistan reserves the full right to protect and defend its citizens against terrorism.
The conference noted that it is essential to provide an excellent system of governance in terror-affected areas—a strong administrative structure focused on public service and welfare that can break the nexus between terrorism and crime thriving under nefarious political patronage. The participants added that after facing an exemplary defeat in the battle of truth, the enemy wants to spread unrest using hybrid warfare and false narratives. Any such external-backed attempt to create chaos will be crushed with an iron hand without hesitation.
Taking notice of India's statements regarding the Indus Waters Treaty, the conference participants clarified that the National Security Committee's directive dated April 24, 2025, provides complete guidance on this matter. The Armed Forces of Pakistan will not hesitate to take all necessary measures to ensure the availability of Pakistan's rightful share of water in accordance with government directives and the aspirations of the Pakistani people. The Corps Commanders' Conference reiterated that Kashmir is Pakistan's jugular vein, and regional peace depends on providing Kashmiris with their inalienable right to self-determination in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions. The Field Marshal directed all commanders to rapidly implement the Multi-Domain Transformation Plan in line with the changing character of warfare, ensuring the protection of Pakistan's sovereignty and national interests at all costs.
