Star player Florian Balogun faced a suspension after receiving a red card during the Round of 32 match against Bosnia and Herzegovina on July 2. Following a review request, FIFA provided major relief by delaying the suspension's implementation for a year, allowing Balogun to play in the crucial quarter-final match against Belgium on July 7.

While President Trump welcomed the decision, football fans and the Belgian Football Association have expressed deep concerns and raised questions regarding FIFA's impartiality.
