(Digital Itla) Morocco has become the first team to book a spot in the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
In a match played in Houston, Morocco defeated co-hosts Canada 3-0, knocking them out of the tournament. Azzedine Ounahi scored two goals for Morocco, while Sofyan Amrabat (or Soufiane Rahimi) successfully found the back of the net once.
Both teams were locked at 0-0 at the end of the first half. Before this match, Morocco qualified for the Round of 16 by defeating and eliminating the Netherlands. Morocco will face France in the quarterfinals.
