(Digital Itla) The funeral prayers for Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was martyred in an Israeli and American attack, have been offered.
According to ARY News, the funeral prayers for the late leader, who embraced martyrdom on February 28, were held at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla in the capital city of Tehran. Along with the Supreme Leader, the funeral prayers for his daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter—who also lost their lives in the same attack—were performed.
Millions of people, including Iranian government officials, attended the prayers amid emotional scenes. The central courtyard and surrounding areas of the Mosalla were completely packed, forcing millions to offer their prayers on the streets outside.
Strict security measures were in place, with crowds arriving at the venue since the night before. The body of the leader will be taken to Qom for a second funeral prayer. Following public viewings and mourning ceremonies across the country, he will be laid to rest on July 9 at the shrine of Imam Ali Al-Rida in Mashhad. Delegations comprising heads of state, government officials, and religious leaders from 100 countries, including Pakistan, are participating in the ceremonies.
