Mosques and Shrines Demolished in Indian State of Gujarat; Modi Government Aligned with Anti-Muslim Agenda

(Digital Itla) – To establish the dominance of the hateful Hindutva ideology, the ruling BJP government continues its worst exploitation of minorities, especially Muslims. Under the patronage of the Modi government, the fundamental rights of minorities are being violated, and brutal violence against them alongside the demolition of places of worship has become routine.

According to the Hindustan Gazette, three mosques and several shrines have been demolished over the past few days in the Kutch district of the BJP-ruled Indian state of Gujarat. Local residents and community members reported that no prior notice was issued before the action.

According to the Indian journal, Muslims seeking clarification over the demolition of the mosques and shrines were threatened with dire consequences. Twenty-five youths protesting the demolition drive were arrested and sent to jail.

According to the international human rights organization Human Rights Watch, the BJP is using government machinery to discriminate against minorities, particularly Muslims, in India. The Modi government, working on a Hindutva agenda, is bent on wiping out the presence of minorities from India by attacking their identity, history, and places of worship.
