(Digital Report) The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) has confirmed the presence of the polio virus in environmental samples collected from various parts of Pakistan.
According to the NEOC, the virus was detected in sewage samples collected from Kashmore, Qambar, and Karachi's East and West districts.
Environmental samples from Dera Bugti and Chaman in Balochistan also tested positive for the virus. In addition, sewage samples from Peshawar and Bannu were found to contain the poliovirus.
However, all environmental samples collected from Punjab, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Islamabad tested negative.
