Father Buries Young Son Without a Shroud Due to Poverty; Police Step In

(Digital Itla) A heartbreaking incident highlighting extreme poverty occurred in Multan, where a helpless father brought the body of his young son to the graveyard wrapped only in a bedsheet because he could not afford a burial shroud.

According to police, Lohari Gate Police rushed to Rashidabad Graveyard after receiving information that a burial was being carried out without a shroud. During the inquiry, the deceased's father explained that severe financial hardship had left him unable to bear even the basic funeral expenses.

The grieving father attempted to bury his son wrapped only in a sheet. Moved by the family's situation, police officers purchased a burial shroud from their own pockets and ensured that the deceased received a proper Islamic burial.

The police also provided immediate financial assistance to the bereaved family and made all necessary funeral arrangements. Citizens praised the officers' compassionate gesture, describing it as a remarkable example of humanity and social responsibility.
