In Toronto, Senegal defeated Iraq 5-0. Habib Diarra gave Senegal the lead in the 4th minute of the match. Pape Gueye scored twice, while Ismaïla Sarr and Iliman Ndiaye scored a goal each to seal a historic victory. Notably, Senegal has become the first African team in FIFA World Cup history to score five goals in a single match. Following this massive win in the tournament, Senegal’s hopes of advancing to the pre-quarterfinals remain intact.
