Government Reduces Fuel Prices for Commercial Aircraft

27 June 2026

(Digital Itla) The government has reduced the price of jet fuel used in commercial aircraft by 7.15 rupees per litre. According to sources, the new price of jet fuel has been fixed at 231.72 rupees per litre. Sources added that the reduction in jet fuel prices will yield significant savings for airlines on fuel expenses, which is expected to lower the operational costs of aviation services.

Sources mentioned that prior to the recent conflict situation in the Middle East, the price of jet fuel was approximately 188 rupees per litre; however, it subsequently witnessed a sharp increase locally due to surging prices in the international market. Despite the government's recent price cut, the current price of jet fuel remains higher than pre-Middle East war levels. It is worth noting that yesterday, despite a drop in global oil prices, the government decided to maintain petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan unchanged for the upcoming week, depriving consumers of anticipated relief. Meanwhile, the government reduced the price of kerosene oil while simultaneously increasing the petroleum and diesel levy.
