(Digital Itla) The registration of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Azad Kashmir has been restored after a larger bench of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir High Court announced a significant decision, issuing a short order.
The larger bench, headed by Chief Justice of the AJK High Court, Justice Shahid Bahar, declared the Election Commission's previous decision null and void, ordering the restoration of PTI's registration and the allocation of its electoral symbol. Following the court order, PTI candidates will now be able to contest the upcoming elections using the 'bat' electoral symbol. Previously, the Election Commission had canceled the registration of PTI Azad Kashmir, a decision that was challenged in the High Court via a writ petition filed by former Prime Minister of AJK, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi.
