Severe Dust Storms and Rains Havoc in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 9 Dead, 7 Injured

(Digital Itla) Severe dust storms and heavy rains caused widespread destruction in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, leaving 9 people dead and 7 injured in different incidents. According to details, 9 people lost their lives and 7 were injured in various mishaps caused by strong dust storms, torrential rains, and lightning strikes across different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued an initial damage report, stating that the 9 deceased individuals include 5 men, 2 women, and 2 children. In addition, 7 people were injured in different incidents. The incidents took place in the districts of Dera Ismail Khan (D.I. Khan), Upper Dir, Kohat, and Orakzai. A total of 4 houses were damaged due to the severe dust storms and rains, with 3 houses partially damaged and one house completely destroyed. The Director General of the PDMA has directed the relevant district administrations to provide immediate relief goods to the affected families and further accelerate the rescue operations.

The PDMA, Rescue 1122, and local district administrations are present on the field in the affected areas and are actively engaged in relief activities. In view of the current weather conditions, the public has been advised to completely avoid unnecessary travel, particularly to sensitive tourist spots.
