Big News for the Public: Petrol Gets Cheaper by Rs 74 and Diesel by Rs 67 Per Liter

(Digital Itla) Following peace and stability in the region and a significant decline in oil prices in the global market, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a massive relief package for the public, declaring a record reduction in petrol and diesel prices. In his important address, the Prime Minister stated that the benefits of the improved economic situation in the region and the drop in global oil prices are being transferred immediately to the public. He said that by the grace and mercy of Allah, the government is going to fulfill the promise it made to the nation today. According to the announcement, the price of petrol is being reduced by Rs 74 per liter, while the price of high-speed diesel is being slashed by Rs 67 per liter. Following this decision, the price of petrol will decrease from Rs 373 to Rs 299 per liter, while the price of diesel will drop from Rs 378 to Rs 311 per liter. The Prime Minister stated that the government is fully aware of the public's hardships and economic pressures. He noted that the Pakistani public demonstrated patience and resilience during the toughest times and fully supported the government, making the entire nation worthy of tribute. Shehbaz Sharif explained that from the very beginning of the crisis, the government utilized its resources to try and provide maximum relief to the public. He mentioned that the federal government spent Rs 129 billion through savings in the development budget and austerity measures to mitigate the impact of rising petroleum product prices. According to the Prime Minister, during the period of economic tension in the region, several countries faced issues like fuel rationing and energy crises; however, thanks to effective government planning in Pakistan, not only was an energy crisis averted, but the continuous supply of petroleum products to the public was also ensured. He said that there were no long queues anywhere in the country, nor did any fuel shortage arise. He further added that the mutual cooperation between the federal and provincial governments played a key role in keeping the national economy stable, for which he is grateful to all provincial chief ministers. The Prime Minister stated that the government will continue to take effective measures to reduce inflation and ensure economic stability in the future. In his speech, Shehbaz Sharif also mentioned the establishment of peace in the Middle East, stating that by the grace of Allah Almighty, peace in the region became possible due to Pakistan's mediation. He said that the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding is a historic development that has elevated Pakistan's global stature. The Prime Minister extended special congratulations to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, stating that the peace agreement became possible due to his tireless hard work, leadership qualities, and professional expertise. He also praised the services of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and the government team. Furthermore, he paid tribute to the economic team, including Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, the Finance Secretary, the Petroleum Secretary, and the Chairman of the FBR. The Prime Minister said that all these individuals performed valuable services during the economic crisis. The Prime Minister reiterated his commitment that providing maximum relief to the public will remain the government's top priority, and every reduction in oil prices in the global market will be transferred to the public exactly as it is.
