32-Year-Old Record Broken in FIFA World Cup

(Digital Itla) The streak of new records continues in the thrilling matches of the FIFA World Cup. According to details, history was made on Tuesday as a total of 281,223 fans attended the stadiums during the four matches played. This attendance surpassed the single-day record previously established during the 1994 World Cup in the United States, where 277,070 people had turned up for four matches.

 

On Tuesday, 80,545 fans attended the France vs. Senegal match, 69,045 attended Argentina vs. Algeria, 68,527 turned up for Austria vs. Jordan, and 63,106 witnessed the Iraq vs. Norway clash. These statistics reflect the extraordinary interest of fans in the initial stages of the tournament. According to FIFA, the tournament is currently averaging 65,483 spectators per match, and it is expected that the overall record of 3.5 million spectators set in 1994 could also be broken.
