Section 144 Imposed from 1st to 10th Muharram-ul-Haram, 7 Different Types of Restrictions Enforced on Citizens of Punjab

(Digital Itla) The Punjab Home Department has imposed Section 144 across the province to maintain law and order and make security arrangements effective during Muharram-ul-Haram. According to the spokesperson of the Punjab Home Department, Section 144 will remain in force across the province from the 1st to the 10th of Muharram-ul-Haram (June 17 to June 26), under which 7 different types of restrictions have been imposed. According to the notification, only permitted processions and Majalis will be allowed during Muharram-ul-Haram, while no new tradition or activity will be permitted. Under Section 144, the display of all types of weapons and inflammable materials in public places without prior permission from the competent authority has been banned, and there will also be a complete ban on provocative slogans, gestures, statements, and comments that incite public sentiments, beliefs, and sectarianism.
