(Digital Itla) In China, a famous dog with 1.5 million social media followers was allegedly stolen, slaughtered, and consumed. According to reports, a Border Collie named "Chotu," who boasted 1.5 million followers, was allegedly stolen, sold, and butchered. According to Chotu's owner, he was traveling in Georgia last month while Chotu was left in the care of his parents. On May 11, they were informed that Chotu had gone missing from the house. CCTV footage showed two unidentified individuals arriving on an electric scooter and abducting the dog. Upon hearing the news, the owner cut his trip short, returned home, and began searching for the dog. Around two weeks later, they tracked down the alleged suspect, who confessed that he had sold Chotu to a dog meat restaurant for 180 Yuan (approximately $27), where the dog was slaughtered and eaten. The suspect justified his actions by claiming he thought the dog was a stray; however, the owner, Guo, rejected this claim, stating that Chotu was wearing a collar and a GPS tracker. According to the owner, when they reached the respective restaurant, they were met with disappointment as even the dog's remains had already been disposed of. Chotu's owner is deeply grief-stricken by the incident and expressed his emotions on social media, stating that he can never forgive himself or those involved in the crime. He has vowed to get justice for his pet, while the local police have taken notice of the incident and initiated an investigation.
