Government Announces Historic Relief Package for Armed Forces, Federal Employees, and Pensioners

(Digital Itla) A historic relief package by the government for the armed forces, federal government employees, and pensioners has been unveiled. According to the package, the new Pay Scales 2026 will be introduced, and the Ad-hoc Relief Allowances of 2022 (15%) and 2025 (10%) will be merged into the basic salary. All federal government employees will receive a 7% Ad-hoc Relief Allowance (ARA) on their running basic pay. A Disparity Reduction Allowance 2026, amounting to 5% of the basic pay, will be granted to employees from BPS-1 to 22. The Convenience Allowance will be increased by 50% from its current amount. For the Civil Armed Forces, the Constant Attendant Allowance has been raised from PKR 7,000 to PKR 30,000. The Special Pay for officers/staff of the Cabinet Division has been increased from PKR 6,000 to PKR 20,000 per month. The Special Allowance for BPS-1 to 22 employees of the National Highway and Motorway Police (NH&MP) has been increased from 10% to 50%. The Special Conveyance Allowance has been increased from PKR 6,000 to PKR 10,000. Furthermore, a 7% increase will be made to the baseline pension of all pensioners. All these relief measures will take effect on July 1, 2026.
