(Digital Itla) NADRA has introduced a new digital system to make the process of child birth registration faster, easier, and fully digital across Pakistan. According to details, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched the "Birth Notification Tool," an automated system that sends an SMS to parents immediately upon a child's birth, initiating the legal registration process without delay.

How it Works: Right after a birth at any hospital or medical center, an alert is sent to the parents' mobile number. This message serves as an initial record to assist in formal registration at the Union Council.

The Objective: NADRA spokesperson Syed Shahabat Ali emphasized that this initiative aims to modernize Pakistan's civil registration system to international standards, addressing the historical issue of delayed initial registrations.

Implementation Status: This system is implemented in collaboration with public and private hospitals. The facility is already active in Sindh and Punjab via the "Pak Identity" mobile app, while expansion is underway in Balochistan. Implementation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will follow official approval.
