Karachi (Digital Itla): A shocking new incident of circulating fake currency has emerged in Karachi, leaving shopkeepers and social media users stunned. In a video going viral on social media, a man can be seen handing a 500-rupee fake note to a shopkeeper, featuring a modified image of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, generated through Artificial Intelligence (AI). The unique feature of this note is that instead of Quaid-e-Azam's traditional portrait, he is shown in a different style wearing a heavy winter coat, which is clearly different from the original currency note. According to the affected shopkeeper, he became suspicious later, and upon inspecting the note, discovered it was fake, after which he recorded a video of the incident and shared it on social media. Following the viral video, mixed reactions have emerged from users. Some termed it a "creative yet dangerous deception," while others expressed deep concern. Experts state that manufacturing fake documents and currency using advanced AI tools is a serious crime, and public awareness along with strict legal action is essential to prevent it. Users have demanded that the relevant authorities take immediate notice of the incident and implement effective measures to stop the spread of fake currency so that ordinary citizens can be protected from such fraud.
