Hangu: 5 Children Drown While Bathing in a Pond

Hangu (Digital Itla): Five children drowned while bathing in a local mini-dam pond located in the Kotki area of Hangu. Four of the children tragically lost their lives, while one child was rescued alive. According to Rescue 1122 officials, the accident occurred within the limits of the City Police Station, where the children were swimming in the pond and suddenly went into deep water. According to rescue sources, the deceased include two biological brothers, and their ages ranged between 5 and 8 years. Officials stated that all the affected children in the accident are Afghan refugees. The bodies and the injured child were shifted to the hospital for necessary legal procedures. Rescue teams took timely action to pull one child out alive, but the remaining four could not survive. A wave of grief has swept the area following the incident, and the local administration has initiated an investigation.
