Tarkhani Police Station Arrests Proclaimed Offender Wanted for Attempted Murder of Couple

Faisalabad: November 2, 2026 (DIGITAL ITLA) — Following the explicit directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad Tanveer Hussain regarding the swift arrest of proclaimed offenders, Tarkhani Police Station executed a successful operation, apprehending a key suspect wanted for an attempted double murder and extortion attempt.

According to details, SHO Tarkhani Muzammil Abbas, alongside his operational team, leveraged professional investigation techniques to arrest the absconding criminal, identified as Asif. According to police records, the accused, along with his accomplices, had launched a deadly armed attack on local citizen Abdul Sattar and his wife one year ago, issuing death threats before fleeing the scene.

Interrogation revealed that the suspect had been blackmailing and attempting to extort PKR 1.8 million from Abdul Sattar. Upon refusal, the accused resorted to violent intimidation by opening direct fire on the couple. Tarkhani Police have initiated further legal prosecution and interrogation against the arrested suspect.

Commending the police team for the successful apprehension, CPO Faisalabad Tanveer Hussain stated that specialized police units have been mobilized across the district to track down and arrest all remaining Proclaimed Offenders (POs). He reaffirmed that individuals threatening public security and attempting extortion will face strict, uncompromising legal action.
