FAISALABAD: Nov 4 (Digital Itla) — Faisalabad police have arrested a man for concocting a fake robbery story and placing a false emergency call on the 15 helpline, officials said on Wednesday.
According to police sources, the suspect, identified as Sohaib, called the 15 emergency helpline reporting that three unidentified men had robbed him. Airport Police Station personnel immediately rushed to the scene to verify the incident, only to discover that no robbery had taken place and the suspect was trying to initiate bogus legal proceedings.
Police arrested Sohaib on the spot for misusing the emergency helpline and fabricating a false complaint, registering a criminal case against him.
The City Police Officer (CPO) of Faisalabad emphasized that individuals who misuse the 15 emergency service and misguide the police will be dealt with an iron fist.
