Police Achieve Major Success: Key Accused in Double Murder Case Arrested From Layyah

Faisalabad: October 31, 2026 (DIGITAL ITLA) — In a major breakthrough, Faisalabad Police tracked down and arrested a fleeing primary suspect involved in a heinous double murder case from District Layyah.

According to details, the accused, identified as Shahid, had opened direct fire, killing Sher Muhammad Khan and his own wife, Ruby, over so-called honor reasons before going into hiding. Taking strict notice of the incident, City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad Tanveer Hussain constituted a specialized investigation team led by SP Lyallpur Town Abid Zafar to ensure the prompt arrest of the fleeing culprit.

Operating under the supervision of SP Lyallpur Division Abid Zafar, an operational team headed by SHO Gulberg Police Station Abdul Ghaffar executed a targeted raid in Layyah, apprehending the accused Shahid. Formal interrogation proceedings have been initiated against the suspect.

CPO Faisalabad Tanveer Hussain commended the police team for their swift performance and successful tracking. He affirmed that the arrested suspect will be prosecuted with irrefutable forensic and circumstantial evidence in court to ensure he receives maximum legal punishment.
